A Yellow Hybiscuis

When I got home from working at Leap of Faith yesterday, I was surprised by a beautiful gift in my front yard: a yellow hybiscus plant. Ever since I was a little girl, my most favorite flowers were big red hybiscuses. I couldn't pronounce the word "hybiscus" correctly when I was little, and it always came out "hot biscuits". My mom would get so confused when I told her I was going to get some "hot biscuits" from outside in the garden! I would then bring in a red hybiscus flower, and she would laugh and try to help me pronounce the name correctly.

As I've become older, I've expanded my love of hybiscuses to not only red, but any color, shade, and brand. I love all flowers and herbs, but hybiscuses always hold a special place in my heart, for whatever reason.

It meant a lot to me, realizing that when my mom was at the store, she thought of me when she saw this plant, and bought it for me, knowing how special it would be to me. This reminds me of Jesus on the cross. When he was dying, of all things to think about...he was thinking of me. Thinking of me...thinking of you...loving us all the more for it-isn't it astounding? Jesus was thinking of YOU up there on that cross, dying for YOU; He loves us, and every time I remember what He's done for me, I feel loved and special and just know...I know He has a plan for me, and will never leave me in the hard times. Just like yellow hybiscuses from Mom, Jesus gives us reminders that He loves us, and that we're always on His mind.
Love y'all!

The Beauty of Life

Hey y'all! Lately I've been thinking on the beauty of life-if you know how to live it. Life definitely has its downs, but always follows with ups, has its sorrows, but is overcome with complete joys.

Do you value life?
Do you want to live your life to the fullest, the way only you can?

I try to live my life for the Lord, praising Him, loving Him...being cherished by Him. He's everything to me, and without Him, my life is nothing. That's the beauty of it! We are nothing, but God sees everything about us, and loves us! We're not perfect, because we're human, but God-Holy, Pure, PERFECT God, loves us. He loves us! He loves us more than we can every imagine, and it's His Love that makes us, and our lives, beautiful! We can't be beautiful on the inside by ourselves, we need His help and His refining, loving hands to mold us into the beautiful things He created us to be.

Life is beautiful, so long as you live it for the Lord, and forever praise His Holy name.

Monday Meanderings

My favorite, yellow roses with pink tints.

Go-Go Begonia

Borage in bloom.

Baby lemons, a promise for future yumminess!

Serene Hybiscuis, beautiful in their own way.

On my Monday Meanderings about the garden, I found some beautiful morning surprises that the rain brought me: yellow roses with pink tints. They're my favorite rose in the whole world! I also love hybiscuises, herbs, and other flowers too. A recent trip to the feed store allowed me a new addition to my garden: a Go-Go Begonia, its called. Big, hot pink blooms, with an occasional white and pink variegated blossom! So attractive and serene in it's own way, it draws beauty and adds uniqueness as well as a splash of color to my back yard. The back yard, is one of my many projects, as is the front. I've recently "got a raise" you could say with our gardens: I'm the landscape designer and gardener for our yards. I have herb and flower beds, trees that will grow and blossom beautifully, and a small settee between two crape myrtles, with pots of herbs set decoratively about it. I love it! It's so much fun, work, and brings so much satisfaction to the soul, to just sit and enjoy all the fruits of your labors. Do you like gardening? Do you enjoy relaxing in a garden, gazing at all the beauty around you, and just sensing God's presence? To me, that's the best thing ever, and one of my favorite pass times.

Enjoy the present, live for the future, and praise God-there's no other way to live!

Random Thoughts and Pictures

Here's some recent pictures of my gardens, some of the flowers are Rinniculas, an azalea, and some roses. I also posted some new pictures of my two girls, Willow and Genesis. I love photography, and my camera, a Sanyo T850 is so much fun to use! It's not the best brand or style, that would be Canon and/or Nikon, but I love taking pictures of God's creation, and all the blessings He gives me each and every day.

What about you? Do you give God the glory in all you do? Do you praise His name for every blessing? I try my best to remember these things, and to always let God know I love Him, and to thank Him for all the good and the bad that comes my way each day, and how He helps me survive through them, and strengthen my relationship with Him.

Love y'all!

Work Day

Today was the Master Gardener work day. It's so much fun to work with the MG's (as we call each other) and learn tons of cool stuff. Also, we generally thin out plants, share plants, trade plants, and just about each time come home with more plants! We were weeding today, not a whole lot going on, but it's always a fun time on break when we talk and munch and just hang out for half an hour, listen to announcements, and get back to work. It's a great way to spend your Wednesday mornings, and I look forward to each one.

I love my Gardens!

Oh, just being out in the fresh sunshine is rejuvenating! I love the way the sunlight streams through the leaves, and the wind upon my face, gently pulling and playing with my hair. It all fills me full of such joy, unspeakable, unexplainable, delishious, pure joy! Right now, I am loving life. I love being outdoors with my little nips, my gardens filled with flowers and herbs and plants and thriving beauty! Oh, I love pretty things! I love taking pictures of beauty, so that they last forever. Do you love beauty? Do you see God's hand at work everywhere you look? I do!

Filled with contentment and unspeakable joy,
